What is IUPAC and what does it do?
IUPAC, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, is a
worldwide organization composed of national chemical societies from
44 countries. IUPAC is recognized as the world authority on chemical
nomenclature, terminology, standardized methods for measurement, atomic
weights and many other critically evaluated data.

Does IUPAC have . . .
. . . tools to help with nomenclature and symbols questions?
IUPAC issues recommendations on how to name compounds or what symbol
to use for a specific quantity.

Does IUPAC have . . .
. . . industrial connections?
Yes. One of the IUPAC standing committees is the Committee On Chemistry
and Industry (COCI) >link to COCI
page for description and contact information.

Does IUPAC have . . .
. . . interest in education?
Yes. One of the IUPAC standing committees is the Committee on Chemistry
Eductaion (CCE) >link to CCE page
for description and contact information.

Does IUPAC have . . .
. . . a periodic table?
>link to the Chemical Elements page,
including references and links to the IUPAC recommendations on naming
the elements, atomic weights, isotopic composition, and periodic table.

Does IUPAC have . . .
. . . grants and fellowship programs?
IUPAC does not offer research grants, but its scientific activities
are conducted by a project-driven system. For informations about the
projects, including funding opportunities >check the Projects
page
IUPAC sponsors approximately 30 international symposia and conferences
each year, and in some cases, provides financial support >link to
more information
IUPAC does not provide funding for scientists to attend conferences.
If funding for scientists to attend conferences is available, it is
typically offered through the organizers. Contact information may be
found on the Conference Calendar.

How can I be involved?
> The members of IUPAC are its National
Adhering Organizations (NAOs), or chemical societies representative
of different countries. Individuals are members of IUPAC Divisions,
Committees, and Project
Task Groups. Individuals may be affiliated with IUPAC by joining
the Affiliate Member Program
(AMP), and companies can explore with COCI
how to become Company Associate.
