Analytical Chemistry Division (V)

COMMISSION ON SOLUBILITY DATA (V.8)
SUBCOMMITTEE ON LIQUID SOLUBILITIES

Number: 582/43/97

Title: Nitromethane with Water or Organic Solvents

Series: Solubility Data Series

Coordinator(s): V. P. Sazonov, K. Marsh, and G.T. Hefter

Completion Date: 2000 - project completed

Objective:
This volume contains the tabulated collection and critical evaluations of original data for solubilities of nitromethane in a variety of liquid solvents. The solvents include water, and a variety of hydrocarbon, oxygen-containing, halogen-containing, sulfur-containing and nitrogen-containing organic compounds. The data were gathered from a search of the chemical literature through to the end of 1994. Included in the collection is a substantial amount of solubility data which has not been readily available to scientists outside the USSR in past times because the data were published in journals that are not easily accessible. The volume should be of special interest for chemists and chemical engineers concerned with solvent extraction involving nitromethane in aqueous and non-aqueous media.
