Title: Disposal and Degradation of Pesticide Waste

Objective:
Objective is to critically review processes for disposal and degradation
of obsolete pesticide stocks, tank rinsates, and contaminated soils
through chemical, physical, and microbiological methods. Advantages
and disadvantages of the available technologies will be described and
recommendations for decisions schemes on evaluating options will be
made. The project will be of great assistance to those dealing with
pesticide waste issues, primarily in developing countries.
Progress:
Advanced draft available. A revised draft will be available for review
by the end of 1998, and project conclusions and recommendations will
be reviewed by the Commission on Agrochemicals and the Environment at
the Berlin General Assembly during August, 1999.
