COMMISSION ON SPECTROCHEMICAL AND OTHER OPTICAL PROCEDURES
FOR ANALYSIS (V.4)
Number: 540/17/95
Title: Critical Assessment of Remote Spectroscopic Analysis
using LIDAR and Non-Ranging Methods (Revised title)
Coordinator(s): D.S.
Moore, B. Schrader,
F. Baldini and A.
Koskelo
Completion Date: 1999 - abandoned
Objective:
The use of remote spectrochemical analysis techniques
has recently undergone exponential growth, driven by environmental regulations
and the need for real-time monitoring for process control and emission
measurements. Many competing technologies make claims to establish superiority
in a very competitive marketplace. Standards for comparison should be
established and a critical assessment of these technologies should be
undertaken according to these standards to allow intelligent and accurate
comparisons. This project will evaluate present technologies according
to existing standards or, when necessary, to extrapolate or develop
appropriate standards. Specific technology recommendations will be made
for a variety of applications.
Progress:
Partial draft revised at Geneva. Completed revised draft to be circulated
to V.4 members by e-mail by end of 1997.
Project abandoned
