Analytical Chemistry Division (V)

COMMISSION ON SOLUBILITY DATA (V.8)
SUBCOMMITTEE ON LIQUID SOLUBILITIES

Number: 582/41/92

Title: Cellulose and its Derivatives in Various Solvents

Coordinator(s): V.V. Myasoedova and S. Krause

Completion Date: 2001

Objective:
This volume includes cellulose and its derivatives mixed with liquid solvents and other liquid polymers. An extensive literature review has been completed, which has provided sufficient data for a volume production. The preface will include discussions concerning special properties of all polymers important for solubility behavior. In particular, the solubilities of celluloses, including those concerning liquid crystalline states, will be discussed. The volume will contain discussions of solubility behavior particularly and uniquely associated with the cellulose systems.

Progress:
A literature review and data compilations have been done to produce a total of about 250 camera ready copy pages for the volume. The volume should require substantial preface material to elaborate details of its specialized content. The preface must include a discussion of special properties of all polymers relevant to cellulose solubilities. (Extract from GA Minutes 1997)
